no7 cleansing brush review

So Im back in full action now and will be doing more frequent posts which will be short sweet and to the point,First off I have made myself a Facebook page I would so thankfull  if you would give it a like and share  :) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alainn-Beauty-MUA/350633515018847

Now to my review on No 7 cleansing brush, Can be bought in boots at E30.Iv been using it now about 3 months now having mixed feeling at the start but now I love it.

So this is what it claims to do : This clever cleansing brush gently exfoliates and deeply cleanses the skin, removing more dirt, oil and make-up than manual cleansing alone. Easy and quick to use, discover super clean, soft, radiant and healthier looking skin in less than 60 seconds.

It does exactly what it says on the tin,at first the the head of the brush was very harsh on the skin but after a few uses it it got softer. There is two power settings on it no1 to cleanse and no2 to exfoliate which works perfect on my skin leaving it squeaky clean and super soft. I would recommend it to anyone who does not have very sensitive skin because the  the brush head is far to harsh on the skin so hopefully sometime soon boots will bring out a softer brush head.

Irish Beauty Show 2013 haul

So The Irish Beauty Show was on at the RDS Simmons Court from the 3rd to the 4th of March. I headed down on Monday to see what bargains I could find. Here is what I got and some swatches.

I came across a stand selling a brand of tan which I never heard of before. Maria who was working there was lovely and very helpful she told me a bit about the product and swatched a little on my arm. Its contains aloe vera and vanilla orchid so it moisturises and has a nice smell. Its a Northern Irish product from Co. Down which DO NOT test on animals which is always a plus. I got a 150ml bottle for €10. I will be doing a full review on this product and see it how compares to my trusty Wow Brown.

Left to Right - bBold in medium to dark. Wow Brown in medium to dark as well.

I have seen a few videos of gossmakeupartist on youtube. He highly recommend's about Make-up Atelier so I purchased two of their foundations €20 each plus an eye-shadow palette €22. I regret not getting more products to try out now because these 3 are amazing, the pigments are outstanding for the price.

 T03 natural

Left to Right - Waterproof gel foundation in ocre clair & waterproof liquid foundation in FLW5.

I only picked up 4 brushes €4 each because I am waiting on a brush order at the moment plus I also have too many brushes :)

Top to Bottom - Royal & Langnickel Super Eye Fluff C448, Crown Brush, Crown Brush C200 Deluxe Crease and Royal & Langnickel P155 Eye Fluff.

Bourjois had a stand with 5 products for €10. BARGAIN! I picked up 1 blusher, 3 eye-shadow's and a foundation. See above.

Left to Right - 85 sienne blusher, 04 noir precieux, 03 and 01

Dermalogica had a stand where you could get your face mapped, determine what skin type you are as well as give information about it and provide you a few samples. A lovely girl called Aoife, working on the stand told me I had dehydrated skin, she went through all the products and how to use them. Then I was given a nice little package with samples to try out -

Overall I enjoyed the day and got a few goodies. The next show is on around the end of September/ beginning of October. If you want me to review any of the products above let me know.

Skin Prep Before Make Up Application

Preparing your skin for make up is essential to achieving a flawless, healthy looking base. Follow my 4 simple steps -

1. Cleanse face and neck to get rid of all the impurities and dirt build up. My Favourite is Olay anti-wrinkling milk. I prefer a milk to a foam or cream cleanser as it makes my skin softer.

2. Exfoliate 3 to 4 times a week on the face and neck to get rid of the dead skin cells. I use Soap & Glory  - The Greatest Scrub Of All. It leaves my skin super soft and smooth.

3. Tone - this will  tighten pores so no unnecessary dirt gets in whilst removing any residue left behind by the first two steps. I use rosemary water or thermal spring water as I find toners have too much alcohol in them.

4. Moisturiser will plump the face and provide a smooth even base for make up. Always make sure to get a moisturiser with an SPF for protection (even though you cannot always see the sun, it is there so always wear SPF to prevent sun damage).

Follow these steps for that flawless base. Keep an eye out for my next post about reviewing No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush.
